The Culver City City Council announced the selection of Combined Properties to oversee the design and aesthetic of the 1-acre plot in the heart of downtown Culver City known as Parcel B. Ehrlich Architects of Culver City will be engaged as the architectural firm responsible for the design and aesthetic of the project.
Overall, this looks like a nice concept. Quoting Culver City Architect, Tim Petersen of TPA, "Looks like we have a winning scheme for downtown Culver City. I think they at least chose the right architect (Ehrlich), who should be thoughtful in developing the project (if allowed to). I do, however, hope the project goes through some massaging and refinement and perhaps some scaling down in the next phase. For me, it is still too "mall" like with big ticket retailers and we really don't need more of this. How about a permanent area for the Main St. Farmer's market and possibilities for smaller local retail establishments."
